💎 The Moments that matter most. 💎
Beaches, private jets, fancy restaurants, photoshopped faces, and bikinis..
💰These things are alluring, intriguing, fun, sexy, luxurious, and desirable.
And yet they are not the moments I reflect on most in my life when I’m feeling nostalgic…
When tragedy strikes and life as we know it is changed forever it is the tiny everyday mundane moments we miss the most.
My uncle died when I was 14. He was only 23. He was my hero and the master of fun in our family.
I remember walking into his room the day after his accident and seeing a pair of pants on the floor… crumpled as if he had just taken them of
I remember looking at the loose change on his dresser.. the dirty clothes in his hamper (yes some of his clothes made it to the hamper)
I have traveled all around the world. I have shaken hands with Tony Robbins. I have stayed up late into the night chatting with multi-millionaires. I have walked glorious beaches and stayed in the fanciest hotels.
It was all great. I loved every moment.
But for me…. they are empty without the mundane day to day moments with the people I love.
When I am away from my kids I miss most their sleepy morning faces. Not taking them to amusement parks.
When I reflect on my marriage I miss most our goodnight texts when I was away on business. Not our epic trip to Fiji climbing waterfalls and meeting locals.
When I think about my grandma 😇 I miss most the smell and texture of her favorite sweater. Not the gifts she gave me for Christmas.
You see, your day to day life is not just about preparing for some grand event one day. When you take the vacation, win the award, or build the dream home.
Life is what is happening all around us… in every moment. Especially the small repetitive mundane ones…
But we don’t often see or celebrate those. They are not what catches our eye. Instagram is a great example… the accounts with the most followers are usually flashy and sexy and often…. a bit hollow
Every moment in your life can be a source of incredible joy and gratitude. Every mundane, repetitive, and ordinary moment.
The master sees magic everywhere.
All the moments matter big and small.
But it is the small ones that are often forsaken in pursuit of an ideal that one day you could be happier by having more.
Remember to really live my beautiful friends, every moment. 💖
I love you
